First draft of my article

In this lesson I have wrote my music article on a double page spread. This is as follows:

Ex lead singer of the ‘Cherry Boys’ Ian Forshaw tells ‘Indie’ of how he’s had to reform a new band, the struggles in life and what he thinks his foreseeable further has in hold for him.

Local man, Ian Forshaw is hitting our gig scenes once again 41 year old Ian who was lead singer of former band the ‘Cherry Boys’ known’s only too well what it’s like to be in the spot light. The ‘Cherry Boys’ formed in 1984 hit stardom and fame almost instantly when they were singed the boys who were only 17 at the time were offered the once in a life time change Europe tour. Touring countries like Spain, Germany and Holland. Each a massive sell out. Even though the boys were only to stay together for 3 years the boys were known to be the new thing of the eighties. They hit music magazine ‘NME’ in their time.

The boys finally split in 1987 after realising that they needed more freedom to find out who they were as people. Though reports do say that the ‘Cherry Boys’ split after three long years of drugs and heavily drinking “ LSD was never far from the boys but not only when on tour but even in the studios”.

As the years went on the boy’s last contact and over the next ten years the boys got every day to day normal jobs. Ian trained to work for the NHS.

Never losing the love that he had for music Ian did have to put his passion on the side lines. This was until Ian received a call from a local DJ ‘Keith’. Keith said that someone had called in the station and had asked for the ‘Cherry Boys ‘to be played. “I haven’t heard music like that in years” says Keith “At that moment I knew that I wanted to start playing in a band again”. After Ian and Keith had met they finally agreed to start ‘Caroline 911’.

‘Caroline 911 ‘started to hit the studio as they knew that they needed to be singed within a year. The band made a demo of an album that was to be sent to record labels “ It was so good to get back on the line of work i love” says Ian. “I can’t believe how fast we clicked as a band and how the music began to flow”. The demo was when sent out to over 50 record labels.

After just three weeks the band got 30 conformations. The band was on a high after thinking that they wouldn’t have more that two.” I couldn’t belive it when the phone just didn’t stop ringing, label after label”  Ian explains. The band finally signed with ‘Chris Paine’  head of BBC radio.

Once signed the band gig offers started to be sent ‘Caroline’ the band now gig three times a week at a local bar in Liverpool ‘ Flanagan’s’. Here the band were scouted to be in the ‘Billy and Wally show’.
Here the band was to make a name for themselves in a Beatles triturate band. Here on the band have been playing Beatles songs three times a week althrough out liverpools music scenes
